Fly Fishing the California Delta

An easy 45 minute drive from Sacramento to Iselton will put you in the heart of the California Delta. From this point, we will access the Mokelumne River and the San Joaquin River in addition to a myriad of sloughs. With over 1,000 miles of shoreline, you'll never feel crowded on the Delta. We'll target striped bass, primarily with streamers but there are days when it's possible to get them on top. We'll also throw streamers for largemouth and smallmouth bass. But nothing beats the excitement of witnessing these voracious creatures crashing the surface for a properly presented popper. And as a bonus, don't be too surprised if a dime bright King salmon slams your clouser in late summer/early fall. The opportunity to catch a trophy is always a possibility on the Delta as stripers in excess of 40 pounds are known to cruise this magnificent waterway.
